Just moved to Rancho Murieta ( on Highway 16 towards Jackson, CA) I still work in Sacramento. Steve -- you are still the most 'far out!' guy, except for maybe Roger Pickford!
I live in God's country--the Monterey Peninsula in Central California. The climate is mild all year around, and there is nothing like the sound of crashing waves and white sand. We are having a terrible time with the sea lion population here right now. They actually come to this area to mate and like everyone else these days, they hate to leave. We were in Seattle a couple of years ago and many of the sea lions there had been relocated from Monterey. Most of them found their way back though.
I am in Bolivia running a big banana and pineapple project. I will retire in a couple of years and divide my time between places I have in Prunedale and Costa Rica. Lotta golf and tinkering with old cars in the future.
So, Steve, are you talking about Prunedale, California? I'm assuming you are, because we live in the golf capitol of the world. When was the last time you were back in Prunedale? The area has really grown and there have been lots of work done on 101 to get people in and out of there safely. It's not quite the quaint rural area it used to be, but there is still a lot of open space out there where one can get away from the hub bub. I, for one, consistently vote to halt growth in our area. Don't want to be caught up in the urban sprawl coming down from San Jose in my lifetime.
I live in Hollister and there are some really nice golf courses here, too! I was living in Aromas, next door to Prunedale for 5 years, but moved back to raise our grandchildren in the 'neighborhood' setting.... they had to go too far to visit with any friends in Aromas! I don't remember any golf courses in Prunedale, but there are plenty in Carmel and Monterey! We moved out of San Jose to get away from all the crime!
OK, I give up. Bolivia is relatively close to Concord, as it turns out. England, good try Roger.
Marc Mortensen has e-mailed from Saudi Arabia claiming the record. And Bill Anderson is living in Thailand. These guys can duke it out for the distance record. Anbody have a globe and a tape measure?
I am willing to bet there is only one Prunedale in the whole world, and it has no prunes and no golf courses. I moved there in 1980 when I was involved with Strawberry farming in Salinas. The house is made of adobe (real mud bricks) and has a view of Monterey and Santa Cruz.

I have lived in Brussels, Belgium, since January, 2001, for the same reason I lived in Washington, D.C., for 18 years (we own a house in DC) -- I'm a reporter and I write about governments from their capitals. Brussels is of course capital of the European Union.
Wow you guys win for the farthest away from Concord and Walnut Creek, but I win for the most beautiful spot in the lower 48. My husband Dan and I(married 38 years) both retired from teaching at a Community College in Northern Minnesota and moved to the mountains. We live in the Medicine Bow National Forest on the eastern side of Wyoming, where we fly fish, hunt elk, ride horses and 4 wheelers and ENJOY ! We set up a spot with power and sewer for friends to park their RV's. Come for a visit to GODS country.

Just got back from Costa Rico, beautiful country, lovely people. I can see why you would want to have a residence there.
I would probably win the award for moving the least distance! I lived with my parents in the same house that we were in when I was in high school. When I got married, Joe and I bought a house in Pittsburg (CA!!) since he had grown up there. All I managed to do was go over the hill....... so I guess Iwould be eligible for the 'over the hill' award.....ah well......
I live in Plano, Texas - a suburb of Dallas. We have lived here for 18 years - the longest time I have lived anywhere. We love it here and most of my family also lives here. I am sorry to miss the Reunion - next time. I would love to hear from you. Janet
